If you’re into fashion, love finding a special piece or get a thrill from thrifting, then Seeker Markets is for you!
It’s an event you’re going to want to get to early, so you have first dibs on all the spectacular pieces that will be on offer. There is quite literally a buzz in the air, with excited and eager shoppers and hundreds of potential pre-loved treasures lined up and ready to be discovered by their new owner.
If you haven’t heard about Seeker Markets, you’re going to want to lock this date in your diary!
Bringing Big City Market energy to the Central West
Founders and sisters Courtney Clancy and Morgan Grant loved the idea of the city fashion markets and wanted to bring that same excitement and experience to the Central West. After two extremely successful markets, they are back for their third event.
These markets are good vibes only and all about ‘Hot Girls Recycle’. There is no better place to find that one-off item — a piece that no one else has, that no one else can copy, and that no one else can simply order online tomorrow.
You can guarantee there is something for everyone at the Seeker Markets. With a variety of stallholders, each bringing their own unique sense of fashion, there is a great range of sizes, styles and items on offer. From vintage pieces and one-off finds to those coveted items that still have their tags on them — often at ridiculously discounted prices.
The markets are growing with each event, with more than 400 shoppers travelling from all over the Central West to be part of the shopping action at the last market. If you don’t believe me, check out their Instagram page, which also highlights all the sellers who will be at the upcoming market.
My Top Tips for Shopping Pre-loved Markets
If you plan to visit — and I strongly encourage you to — here are my top tips for pre-loved market shopping:
Be prepared. Have a plan.
Are you looking for something in particular? Do you have a budget? Are there gaps in your wardrobe you’re wanting to fill? Or do you have an upcoming event and need something to wear?
Knowing what you’re looking for will help keep you focused and stop you from wasting time. Also have a bag to put your goodies in and know how you’re going to pay for your items – cash or PayID.
Be comfortable. Wear appropriate clothes.
Make sure your clothes are easy to change out of or to pop something over the top. And don’t wear shoes with shoelaces — it’s just a nuisance!
There will be change rooms available, but stallholders may also have mirrors so you can try items on there and then.
Be open. Try something unexpected.
One of the best things about pre-loved shopping is that you never quite know what you’re going to find. Don’t just head straight for the styles, colours or brands you would normally choose. Be open to trying something a little different — you might find a shape, colour or piece that you absolutely love but would never have picked up in a regular shop.
And remember, you can always try it on. Sometimes the pieces you’re unsure about on the hanger are the ones that surprise you the most when you put them on.
Make a day of it
Bring your mum, sister, aunty, cousin or grab a group of girlfriends. The markets will be the highlight of your day out, but there are also plenty of other amazing shops and experiences to enjoy in Canowindra.
Remember these markets are about more than just shopping — they’re about connecting, sharing style and giving great pieces a second life.
