A Creative School Holidays Across the Region In July

July school holidays are MASSIVE in the Central West when it comes to arts, heritage and creative activities.

Regional arts development organisation Arts OutWest have been extra busy loading all the activities to their online WHAT’S ON.

“It’s really reassuring to see this sudden bounty of school holidays activities return where things had been fairly quiet for the last two and a half years,” said Arts OutWest’s Maryanne Jaques.

“There’s more than 70 excellent things to do – and the list is growing. The offerings are wide too: little kids, big kids, crafts to films to festival stuff. A warning though, some – like the activities at Forbes Youth and Community Centre – have been booking out as soon as they’ve been announced so if bookings are needed, get in quick,” Maryanne added.

Find workshops, crafternoons, dinosaurs, special museum tours, gallery activities, a lantern parade, music performances, lots of film screenings, cultural days, festivals and more.

There’s lots of highlights but a few of the special ones include:

• Orange Regional Museum’s big list of activities and kids exhibitions around designing and building cites, linked to their How Cities Work exhibition
• NADIOC Week events around the region
• Potter-Fest at Orange City Library
• Lantern Making and a parade on Saturday 2 July to kick off Bathurst Winter Festival
• Super popular arts and crafts workshops at Forbes at the YACC and at the Arts and Craft Room
• Arts and crafts fun at Libraries in Cowra, Parkes, Bathurst
• Gallery workshops at Bathurst and Orange Regional Galleries
• Skate and Dance workshops in Molong
• An awesome three day art and science program in the second week of the holidays at The Corridor Project near Cowra
• Lots of films for kids in Cowra
• Pianist Andrea Lam’s Kids’ Cushion Concert at Orange Regional Conservatorium
